What Happened

There was a time when we knew
Every thought that the other had.
We spent so much time sharing
Everything good and bad.

You knew my heart and I cry
Wondering how we could part.
“Friends Forever” we said, yes?
And here we are back at the start.

Nothing to share and no emotion.
Simple acquaintances, but how?
When so much passed between us
Why is this happening now?

Strangers together and strangers apart.
I look at you now and I have no clue.
Of all the years we spent together
What happened to me and you?
