Color of Friendship

How would YOU describe the color of friendship? Friends are going to be drawn to one another for a variety of reasons. Some of your friends might like a certain kind of music. Other friends may spend time with one another because they are in a school club together. What makes friendships today especially wonderful is when they are based on interests and common activities rather than on skin color.

There are many reasons that you might decide someone is a good friend, and there are lots of reasons that you might want to pursue a closer friendship with someone. The color of friendship isn't about race, ethnicity or skin color. It's about two people who care about each other just as they are. Great friendships are formed when people will be there for each other, no matter what happens.

Friends become good friends because of these things, and because they enjoy spending time with each other. Friends don't become friends just because they look like each other, and people should never deny a friendship simply because they look different from each other. The true color of friendship shouldn?t be a color at all, but a feeling of belonging.

Each relationship that you have in your life is going to be different. Each one should be cherished because it is precious. Many times, you have probably thought that a person isn't taking the time to see what's underneath you; they are only looking at what they can find on the outside. In the same way, you should choose your friends based on what they are like on the inside, not what they look like on the outside. If you take time to explore the different layers of a person, you will find so many unique and interesting things about them that you otherwise would never know were there.

Your friends can be any color, and can be from any country. They can also have any background. Although lots of people tend to spend time with people who look just like them, don't let yourself miss out on beautiful and lifelong friendships simply because you didn't want to or were afraid to get to know others who look differently.

It isn't important to look at what a person actually looks like on the outside. It is important to find out who they are on the inside, and to develop friendships with those who match you there, not necessarily those that match you on the outside.

One last thing to consider is that befriending someone who isn't exactly like you has some great positives, too. You can learn about a new culture, try new foods, learn a different language, and so much more. Don't miss out on having fun and enjoying new experiences just because someone isn't just like you.

Friendship is such an important part of our lives. Denying even one person the opportunity to be a friend or have a friend is such a waste. Forget about the color of friendship and just focus on being the best friend possible to the people around you.
